All The Latest West End Theatre News From BmyConcierge

Now you may have heard a rumour that there's a little known sporting event that's just kicked off down in South Africa... Yes, The World Cup and Capello's charges will be hogging the full (three) lions' share of the headlines this month. However, for those of you who are not captivated by the beautiful game, hail from a nation unfortunate enough not to have qualified or simply cannot handle four full weeks of all the sweat, blood and inevitable tears from Englands impending exit on penalties- we have prepared the perfect theatrical antidote to the World Cup!

As of today our WORLD CUP SALE is live and offering your football-phobic customers 30+ offers throughout the month of June and into early July.

Highlights include: brilliant NEW OFFERS on shows such as TAP DOGS, SWEET CHARITY and LEGALLY BLONDE both of which are best available online offers, as well as great rates on new thriller GHOST STORIES - which is meant to be scarier than facing the Germans in a penalty shoot out!!

In addition to those brand new offerings we have improved promo prices available on CHICAGO, ALL THE FUN OF THE FAIR, PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT, HAIR, OLIVER! and AVENUE Q amongst others, the return of big savings on JERSEY BOYS, Shakespeare at The Old Vic - with knock down prices on AS YOU LIKE IT and THE TEMPEST, and, if you really want to avoid the football frenzy at all costs, an enticing England game-day offer on THRILLER and other selected shows.

So what else is new in the West End this month? Well...

Seventeen year old Mancunian, Danielle Hope, has duly been crowned the winner of Over the Rainbow and will take up her role as Dorothy in Lord Lloyd Webber's THE WIZARD OF OZ next March - a long time to wait but early sales have been encouraging.

We have been informed that sadly HAIR is due to have its stay in London trimmed at the end of the present cast's stint in September, seemingly another victim of The West End's preference for more bankable shows... we'll be said to see this unique and vibrant 1960s spectacular move on but encourage anyone who hasn't seen it yet to make the most of the offers available between now and the end of it's run.

LES MISERABLES are gearing up for their 25th anniversary in style with a one off mega-performance at the O2 set to star Matt Lucas, Nick Jonas and Gareth Gates amongst others. Sales for this super-show are selling fast and with high selling prices beefing up your commission be sure not to Mis out on this one!

Meanwhile back at the show's usual home on Shaftesbury Ave, X-factor's Lucy Jones and Nancy also-ran Samantha Barks are all set to join the cast in the roles of Cosette and Éponine respectively from the end of the month.

The next month or so will also see the opening of some fascinating new plays...

Jeff Goldblum returns to the UK theatre scene to link up again with The Old Vic's Kevin Spacey. Following his critically acclaimed run in Speed-the-Plow back in 2008, Goldblum is set to star in the company's first West End production - Neil Simon's award winning comedy PRISONER OF 2ND AVENUE - at the Vaudeville Theatre from end of June.

Another US star crossing the pond this summer is David Hyde Pierce - of Frasier fame - who will be treading the boards of The Comedy Theatre opposite our very own national treasure Joanna Lumley and the Olivier Award winning Mark Rylance, in David Hirson's hugely successful comedy - LA BÊTE.

In July Waterloo station welcomes an unusual arrival, direct from The National Railway Museum in York, in the shape of traditional British classic, THE RAILWAY CHILDREN complete with a working steam engine! And it's a case of moving from Waterloo's "Ghost Terminal" to GHOST STORIES when this terrifyingly unique theatrical experience transfers from a sell out run at The Lyric Hammersmith to The Duke of York's. Theatre goers of a nervous disposition have been advised to stay well away from this one - You have been warned!

Finally a bit of juicy west end gossip, we hear that Stephen Daldry and the rest of the team behind the triumphant BILLY ELLIOT, are in the advanced stages of paving the way for BRIDGET JONES to grace the West End stage... Sheridan Smith, currently starring in another screen-to-stage smash LEGALLY BLONDE, has been conscripted to participate in workshops with music coming from none other than popstar Lily Allen. We're likely to see this project come to fruition in late 2011/early 2012.

That's enough from me for now, enjoy the footy this month if that's your passion, but either way, don't miss out on a much more reliable source of success that Wayne Rooney's right foot - our World Cup Sale!
