PANORAMIC TOUR OF LONDON

Our tour begins with a drive past many of central London's famous landmarks including
the Houses of Parliament with Big Ben, Downing Street, the official London residence of the British Prime Minister, Trafalgar Square with the statue of Lord Nelson, and Pall Mall which is home to some of the most famous and prestigeous gentlemens clubs in the world.

WESTMINSTER ABBEY

We take time out for a photo stop at this magnificent Gothic building that has been the site of every coronation since 1066.

EXCLUSIVE FEATURE- THE HOUSEHOLD CAVALRY MUSEUM

Exclusively for Golden Tours - we are able to see behind the scenes of the Household Cavalry and meet an actual trooper from the Household Guards - You will be able to ask any questions- it's alright he won't shoot!

CHANGING THE GUARD AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE

We then head off to Buckingham Palace, to witness the Queen's Foot Guard in their red tunics and bearskins marching perfectly in step to a military band- truly a colourful spectacle. (Or we will visit Horseguards Parade when this ceremony is not available).

LUNCH (OPTIONAL)

The tour then stops for a spot of lunch at a traditional English pub. There will be other choices available for those taking lunch independently.

WALKING TOUR OF BEAUTIFUL COVENT GARDEN

After lunch we enjoy a short walking tour through vibrant Covent Garden a wonderful Italian style piazza lined with shops,and buzzing with street entertainers and restaurants in the heart of London's theatre district.

THE CITY OF LONDON

Driving through the heart of the largest financial centre in Europe we will learn about the Great Fire of London in1666 and the Blitz of 1940-41 during the dark days of the second World War. We will also see the Bank of England known as 'the Old Lady Of Theadneedle Street' and the home of the Lord Mayor - The Mansion House.

EXCLUSIVE FEATURE- ST PAUL'S CATHEDRAL

We arrive at Sir Christopher Wren's architectrial masterpiece, St. Paul's Cathedral which is one of London's most recognisable buildings with its huge Dome standing proud on the skyline. The present building, completed in 1708, replaced the original medieval Cathedral destroyed in the Great Fire of London in 1666.

Our guided tour of the interior includes the newly cleaned Cathedral and Crypt as well as an exclusive access, available to Golden Tours clients only, to the Quire to see the stunningly beautiful mosaics. This section is not normally open to general public.

TOWER OF LONDON AND THE CROWN JEWELS

During its near 1000-year history this impressive fortress has been a royal palace, prison, mint and even a zoo! It has seen three Queens of England beheaded, and the torture of numerous prisoners, stretched on the rack and crushed in the Scavenger's Daughter. We will also see the world famous Crown Jewels including the dazzling Cullinan diamonds and the exquisite Koh-i-Noor, as well as the Bloody Tower, Traitors' Gate, the Royal Chapel and the original White Tower, built by King William the Conqueror in 1078 following the Norman invasion of 1066.

RIVER CRUISE ON THE THAMES

We end our tour in spectacular style with a river cruise enjoying the superb views of Tower Bridge, the London Eye, and the Houses of Parliament, Shakespeare's Globe theatre, the Tate Modern art gallery and much more.

Please note that due to services being held at St. Paul's Cathedral there is no access to the Quire.
Meeting the Trooper at the Household Cavalry Museum is subject to Guard Change.
