TOUR WINDSOR CASTLE & RUNNYMEDEOur tour begins with over 900 years of royal history in Windsor Castle, which is situated high above the River Thames just west of London. From King William the Conqueror all the way through to our current Queen,Elizabeth successive monarchs have lived here and left their mark on what is now the largest occupied castle in the world. Your ticket allows fastrack entrance to the castle, so you can see for yourself the splendour of St. Georges chapel and the magnificent state apartments. The town of Windsor itself is pretty and full of traditional shops and historic traditional pubs. Shakespeare is said to have written his play The Merry Wives of Windsor in one of them! After our visit to Windsor, we drive through Runnymede, where King John signed the historic Magna Carta in 1215ad.
TOUR STONEHENGEStonehenge is probably the most famous prehistoric monument in the world, and now a world heritage site, The mysterious stone circle stands alone in the vast empty tract of Salisbury plain. Its origins date back nearly 5,000 years and it has been home to pagan religions and spiritual worship, not to be mention public debate ever since. Entrance is included and we will have plenty of time to marvel at this ancient feat of engineering and design. Then we journey through the very heart of the plains stopping for photos at Avebury, the largest of the regions stone circles.
TOUR OXFORDThe final part of our tour is spent exploring Oxford,where its famous university is internationally revered as one of the worlds greatest academic institutions, with charming honey coloured stone buildings set around ivy-clad quadrangles. Our guide will take you on a small walking tour telling you about the traditions of Oxford college life before we enjoy a delicious afternoon cream tea in a charming tea shop in the heart of the city
