Our tour of London begins with a panoramic drive around parliament square, to see Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament as well as Westminster Abbey, where many of our Kings, Queens, Statesmen, poets and writers are laid to rest.
TOUR OF ST PAUL'S CATHEDRAL
A fully guided tour of Sir Christopher Wren's architectural masterpiece - St Paul's Cathedral.. The Cathedral was rebuilt after the Great Fire of London destroyes the original in 1666. In recent years it has seen the Royal wedding of Prince Charles, Prince to Lady Diana Spencer and, most recently, the thanksgiving services for both the Golden Jubilee and 80th Birthday of Her Majesty the Queen
CHANGING THE GUARD AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE
A military band, accompany a detachment of the Queen's Foot Guard, fully dressed up in their bearskins and red tunics, as they march to Buckingham Palace to change with the Old Guard.
THAMES RIVER CRUISE AND LUNCH ON THE RS HISPANIOLA**
Time for a hearty lunch on board one of London's finest floating restaurants. the R.S. Hispaniola** which is moored directly opposite the London Eye, with spectacular views of the River. After lunch, our cruise will take us down the river from Westminster to the Tower of London. Many interesting bridges span the Thames and some of London's most important and spectacular landmarks are located on or near to the river. We'll get stunning views of the Houses of Parliament, London Eye, St. Paul's Cathedral, Shakespeare's Globe and Tower Bridge.
TOWER OF LONDON WITH THE CROWN JEWELS
Originally built nearly 1000 years ago and guarded by Yeoman Warders (more commonly known as Beefeaters) since the 14th century, the Tower of London has been a Royal Palace, an armoury, a place of imprisonment and execution, and even a zoo! It is of course also home to the priceless "Crown Jewels", including the enormous Cullinan diamonds and the extraordinary Koh-i-Noor.
CITY OF LONDON
Our tour then continues through the City of London. Discover the fascinating history of 'the square mile' including the Great Fire of London that started in a bakery in Pudding Lane that so nearly destroyed the entire city in 1666. See St Paul's Cathedral, the Mansion House, home of the Lord Mayor of London and the Bank of England, known as 'The Old Lady of Threadneedle Street.'
SUNDAY IN LONDON
Due to Sunday church services, St Paul's Cathedral is closed to visitors on Sunday. We will show you the Cloisters and Chapter House of Westminster Abbey.
*Occasionally there my not be a Changing of the Guard, on these occasions we will visit Horseguards Parade.
