Langford Returns As Lady Of The Lake
11 Feb 2014Bonnie Langford is set to ditch her ice skates and reprise her role as The Lady of the Lake in the Mony Python musical Spamalot later this month.as the show announced that it is now extending its run at the Playhouse Theatre until April 12th. Langford is one of the West End's most popular stars and will return to the show from 24 February alongside the new Sir Lancelot Daniel Boys.
Boasting a career that began in the 1970's as horror child Violet Elizabeth in the hit kids TV series Just William, Langford’s numerous West End stage credits include musicals Chicago, Guys And Dolls, Gypsy, Gone With The Wind and cats.
The actress first appeared as the Lady of the Lake in Spamalot on its UK tour before taking the lead at the Harold Pinter Theatre when the show returned to the West End in 2012. and returned to the show again in 2013, playiing opposite numerous famous King Arthurs including Spamalot’s current star Joe Pasquale, with whom she will be reunited later this month.
Spamalot describes itself as “lovingly ripped off” from the Python teams iconic 1975 film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail and tells the 'slightly ammended' story of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, throwing in beautiful show girls and killer rabbits for good measure.
Joe Pasquale and Bonnie Langford, are confirmed to appear in Monty Python’s Spamalot at the Playhouse Theatre until 22nd March.
