  • 28 Mar 2015
Some changes in personnel have been announced at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane as Lara Denning will swap Miss Honey for Mrs Bucket, moving from Matilda The Musical at the Cambridge Theatre to Charlie And The Chocolate Factory this May.

Denning will star alongside another new cast member Jonathan Slinger who takes over the reins as the world's favourite chocolatier Willy Wonka in the hit family show

Other newcomers to the cast of the show include Kraig Thornber and Mark Oxtoby, who will now play Grandpa Joe and Jerry respectively, while Ross Dawes and Derek Hagan, two of the original members of the cast swap their current roles as Jerry and Mr Teavee and will now play Mr Salt and Mr Bucket.

Charlie And The Chocolate Factory will roll out its new cast to the public on May 4th for the first time, when the 'newbies' will enter into Roald Dahl’s magical world of Oompa Loompas and suger coated mouth-watering creations for the first time.

The much loved story by Dahl was brought to the West End as a stage show through the writing of David Greig with with music and lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman and first opened its doors to the public on June 25th 2013. Sam Mendes took on the daunting task of directing the new lavish stage production and the choreography for the stage show was taken on by Peter Darling.

Charlie And The Chocolate Factory is currently booking at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane until 4th June 2016, giving West End theatregoers plenty of time to get their chocolate smothered fix!.
