The Commitments Extends West End Run Until April 2015
20 Mar 2014Hit West End musical The Commitments has carried on the St Patrick's Day celebrations by announcing that it is extending its run at the Palace Theatre until 19th April 2015.
The musical, based on the hit novel by Roddy Doyle and its subsequent film adaptation by Alan Parker had previously been booking until September this year..
The Commitments charts the story of music fan Jimmy Rabbitte, who brings together an unlikely group of musicians to form a soul band in Dublin. The band gels brilliantly together and look set for stardom until they somehow collectively hit the self-destruct button.
The stage production, which was adapted by Doyle, features an incredible catalogue of classic soul tracks, including Think, Papa Was A Rolling Stone, Mustang Sally and In The Midnight Hour.
