We Will Rock You No More
15 Mar 2014Fans favourite We Will Rock You to end twelve year run....
The Queen of musicals has announced it is finally coming to the end of its phenomenal run. After 12 years of delighting audiences, the curtain at the Dominion Theatre in London’s West End will finally come down on We Will Rock You on 31st May this year.
We Will Rock You takes the audience to a very different Earth 300 years from now in a dystopian future where all the young people dress the same, download the same commercial computer generated trash, watch the same movies and think the same thoughts (…or is it that different?) An underground movement believes that musical instruments, now banned, are buried in the “Place of the Living Rock” and that a bright star will show the way to them. Two young people go looking for them pursued by the evil Killer Queen and her GaGa Police.
Co-written by legendary rockers Brian May and Roger Taylor from Queen, along with Ben Elton, We Will Rock You has been seen and loved by more than 16 million people in 28 countries on 5 continents. When it opened it was dismissed by critics, yet it won the Olivier Audience Award, the only Olivier which is awarded according to public voting. It has also picked up numerous awards and nomination all around the world.
