The Lake District Tour With Afternoon Tea
Full day tour by train from London to the Lake District, one of the most breathtakingly beautiful regions in the UK.
After meeting your Evan Evans representative at Euston Station to collect your tickets and itinerary for the day, you can enjoy a relaxing train journey to Oxenholme in the spectacular Lake District National Park.
On arrival at Oxenholme you will be met by a local guide, who will take you on a spectacular tour of the Lake District. Enjoy a scenic cruise on Lake Coniston and visit the medieval village of Hawkshead, an enchanting combination of whitewashed houses and cobbled streets. We make our way to Hill Top Farm, the home of Beatrix Potter and the inspiration for so many of her characters. Then on to Wray Castle, built in 1840 in the Gothic Revival style and where Beatrix Potter enjoyed several holidays as a child. The grounds of the castle offer splendid panoramic views over Lake Windermere.
A highlight of your tour to the Lake District is afternoon tea at the Lindeth Howe Country Hotel, once home to Beatrix Potter.
You will then be taken back to Oxenholme Station for the train back to London.
